CII and KPMG organised a seminar on

'Adapting to the Changing Economic and Regulatory Environment' in Goa today



Panaji, 14 October 2014: CII Goa in association with KPMG organised a
half-day session on 'Adapting to the Changing Economic and Regulatory
Environment' today at Taj Vivanta Panaji. Mr. Kirit Maganlal, Chairman - Goa
State Council gave the welcome remarks , followed by Punit Shah, Co-Head of
Tax and Western region Leader for KPMG in India.



In the opening remarks Mr. Maganlal stressed the importance of industry to
stay abreast with the ongoing changes in the regulatory and reporting
environments. He emphasized that in this highly evolving scenario, only
effective tax and accounts management systems would provide these companies
with a distinct competitive edge to business.



Mr Shah said that the recent announcements made by the government will be
extremely beneficial and have a positive impact on businesses.



The programme provided insights on topics ranging from Indian Accounting
Standards and Income Computation and Disclosure Standards, New Companies Act
including brief of CSR Modalities, There were also sessions on M&A/Fund
Raising Tax Structuring, Recent trends in Indirect tax with Impact of Budget
2014 amendments and High level discussion on GST, and Advance Pricing
Agreement.



The event was attended by prominent businesses in Goa. The senior partners
from KPMG provided insights on subjects that are of relevance to CFOs which
would help them stay in tune with the changing business environment.
