Re: Evolutionist Kevin?

Hei All,

The Gilbert vs Kevin dialogues are refreshing, equally powerful and
very enjoyable. We could all benefit from the verbal jousting and they
help us more seriously to make our own minds on the subjects
discussed. I find them civil, articulate and not without sarcasm and
wit which is to be appreciated. :))). To ask for pastoral intervention
is absurd and naff and regressive.

Like I said to Kevin, I am new here. I first ran into him when he
responded to my initial query of christianity and the goanet. It
appears that I may have disturbed a hornets nest. However, I am
encouraged to see that it has wrinkled out the edges of what goanet
means to the different people who subscribe to it and read it. Goanet
is what you want it to be. That can only be good.

Since my last encounter with Kevin, I have taken the trouble to read
what he has to say. In the article addressed to Gilbert I was
wondering if you Kevin can confirm if I understand you correctly. Did
you say you are a professional evolutionist. And two, in a round about
way that you have a simple faith or BELIEF given the indoctrination
you were subjected to. Like I said to you it is paradoxically possible
to be in two or more states at the same time without contradiction. I
have no quarrel with that just curious to know. Please note that that
does not make you different to me in anyway because I too have my own
contradictions I accommodate very happily. hahaha.

Another thing, you reflected how people over time BELIEVE but baulk at
going to the other side because they really do NOT BELIEVE. I think
you could be right. So why do they take these positions. Is HOPE a
stronger currency then BELIEF and is belief an insurance policy which
is a tradeable commodity milked at the alters of all religions? It can
be observed that the hopeless and dispossessed across the world make
the strongest believers. That cannot be a coincident. I dare say
indoctrination helps it along too. An alcoholic knows it is bad but
that does not stop him from drinking. It is a conflict of mind over
body.

Gilbert is ok. Kevin under a rock or Kevin under the Canadian Shield.
lol. light hearted humour and very amusing, I thought. But Kevin an
evolutionist or Kevin a believer or Kevin both an evolutionist and a
believer would be very interesting to know in private or in public.

Cheers
