Dear Sirs,

This is with ref to ad ?Goenkaranon Jayat zage? by 14
doctors.

In a democracy, everyone is entitled to have his say.
14 doctors have thus decided to air their views.

It is a tragedy that a group which purports itself to
be secular has no qualms in backing Mr. Parrikar in
the way they do. Mr. Parrikar is not only perceived as
communal, but has, through his acts of omission and
commission, proved himself to be communal to the core.

The VCD conspiracy, the communal riots in Curchorem,
the destruction of the mosque at Socorro, the
vandalization of the Archbishop?s palace are just a
few instances to back the point of view of the
majority of us that Parrikar is communal.

Mr. Parrikar during his reign polarized Goa on
communal lines like never before. Because of this he
invited the ire not only of the minorities, but of
thousands of right-thinking members of the majority
community, who are with us, and see through his games.
Parrikar has vitiated the entire secular fabric of Goa
and enough damage has been done which will take years
to undo. If he comes victorious through division of
vote, which may well happen, it will be the death
knell of secular Goa.

It is also pertinent to note that as far as good
governance is concerned, during Parrikar?s rule, this
was a myth. The IFFI scam, the PETS scam, the
saffronization of key depts. are just a few examples
of his corrupt administration and desire to pursue his
agenda. In his time, relevant political and
bureaucratic machinery was thrown to the wind and
replaced by a unipolar administraton.

At least leaders like the suave and humble Mr. Shripad
Naik of the BJP, were they at the helm, could have
deflected some of the ire that the BJP rightly invited
upon itself. Nay, but Mr. Parrikar is a law unto
himself and chose to function, as is his wont, in the
style of most feudalkings. His undemocratic,
capricious and impulsive leadership often resulted in
chaotic administration.

Parrikar was a dictator who had succeeded in creating
a police State in Goa. His dictatorship was
reminiscent of that of Salazar. He could target anyone
at will and could get away with anything. With his
strong arm tactics he had managed to silence even the
press in a way that Salazar would have envied.

He wants to bask now in the glory of the GBA movement.
The truth is that the RP 2011 came during his rule,
and he conveniently slept over it. To make matters
worse it is now bhai-bhai between him and the chief
architect of the RP, Mr. Babush Monserrate

Mr. Parrikar will do anything to capture power.

We must endeavour to keep Mr. Parrikar away, this
time, if peace must reign in Goa.

The group of doctors who released the ad. obviously
has not done their home work properly. It is possible
also that in good faith they have been misled by
someone.

The huge amount of money spent in such ads could have
been channeled towards a deserving cause.

I agree with Dr. Francisco Colaco. Further, it is becoming increasinly clear that the purported 14
"doctors" are not real people. In a couple of cases where the names match someone in Goa, one is
not sure whose views are reflected in the Herald article and if people's names have been
sabotaged. It is likely the real people have no idea what was published in their name. The only
way to clear this is for Herald to publicly state who paid for the article/advertisement and how
it ended up in the Herald. Rogue journalism and political marketing campaigns will not fool
people. The Goan electorate should not support any communal and corrupt candidates.

Dear Sirs,
This is with ref to ad "Goenkaranon Jayat zage" by 14
doctors.
In a democracy, everyone is entitled to have his say.
14 doctors have thus decided to air their views.
It is a tragedy that a group which purports itself to
be secular has no qualms in backing Mr. Parrikar in
the way they do. Mr. Parrikar is not only perceived as
communal, but has, through his acts of omission and
commission, proved himself to be communal to the core..................
RESPONSE: Anyone with a bit of commonsense, will have perceived that
the BJP is communal, the statement by one of its leaders ''BJP leader
M Venkaiah Naidu has criticized the local church's stand against
communal candidates.'' is an admission that they (the BJP) are
communal and they see no problem with their identity....please see :-
